NEWS FROM YOUR PTA:
Help PTA throw the BEST RECESS EVER! One Friday each month, PTA will host an extra special recess for the deserving students at BPE. We're talking organized games and other fun and engaging activities. We want YOU, our Volunteers, out on the playground getting kids excited and creating a fun atmosphere. Sign up to join us for our first event on Friday March 11th.
BOOK FAIR: Browns Point PTA is happy to announce we're bringing back an in person Book Fair! The Book Fair is set to take place the week of parent teacher conferences, March 16th - 18th. This is one of the students' favorite events and we need the help of our parent volunteers to make it a success. The Book Fair will be held outside (rain or shine) under the covered playground. Shopping available Thursday March 17th and Friday March 18th after school, with a student preview day on Wednesday March 16th during school. All proceeds go towards PTA programs like One Book One School, Teacher and Specialist Grants, and Curriculum Enrichment. Thank you in advance for signing up to volunteer.
POPCORN VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: 5th Grade Parents, please consider signing up to volunteer at one of our few remaining Popcorn Fridays. We are short on volunteers and could use your help preparing over 400 bags of popcorn for the student body. Our next Popcorn Friday is scheduled for Friday March 11th. Click the sign up link below for more info. *You do not need to be a 5th Grade Parent to Sign up to Volunteer*
NE Tacoma Healthy Kids Coalition- March Volunteers Needed: We need volunteers! Did you know the NE Tacoma Healthy Kids Coalition is now serving 275 students per week in our community by providing weekend meals and other basic needs support? That means we are packing over 1,100 weekend meals bags per month and delivering them to our 4 local schools. It takes a lot of volunteers and we need the community’s help to ensure we meet the needs of our local students!
Please sign up to join us for our monthly packing event at the NE Tacoma Healthy Kids Coalition room at the old Browns Point Elementary and/ or to help deliver weekend meal bags from the Coalition room to our local schools. The volunteer commitment is 1-2 hours and we are following TPS Covid protocols to keep our volunteers safe. Due to the space and speed of packing, volunteers must be middle school aged and up. All middle school volunteers must have an adult supervisor present at all times.
Please sign up here if you are interested in helping out for our March 8th packing event or March 9th delivery date to our local schools: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080545aaae2da1ff2-nethealthy7
We understand that conflicts arise, but we ask volunteers to give us 48 hours advance notice if you need to cancel. It takes a full team of volunteers to accomplish our packing and delivery tasks and we need ample time to fill any vacant slots. Thanks for your cooperation!
WE NEED YOU! PTA is now searching for volunteers who want to be involved in PTA next year, we will have Board member positions and many committee chairs to fill!
