NEWS FROM YOUR PTA:
FROM THE OFFICE
Due to COVID protocol, we are requesting that all snacks and treats sent to the classrooms be store bought and prepackaged. Please think about sending goodie bags instead of treats for Birthday Celebrations. With goodie bags, rather than treats, it is one less opportunity for students to have their face masks off in the classroom and which makes another potential to spread COVID.
Please remember to label your child’s clothing and belongings. Our lost and found is growing and we would love to get your items back to you.
The health room is in need of gently used clothing, We could especially use boys pants size 8 to 10. Thank you.
DANCE-A-THON: PTA Dance-a-Thon collections have begun, and our students and families have raised over $17,000 toward our $20,000 goal! We are blown away by the participation so far and can’t wait to see what we do this week! Remember, your student’s online fundraising website allows us to accept credit/debit donations online from anywhere in the world, in addition to cash & checks. To set up your student’s website follow these steps:
IF YOU HAVE SET UP A STUDENT ACCOUNT IN THE PAST:
Log in with your previous email and password at https://www.getmovinfundhub.com
Under your child’s name, click the green “Add To Current Event” button
Select your child’s classroom teacher from the dropdown.
Upload a recent photo of your child if you like!
Click “save” at the bottom.
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A GET MOVIN ACCOUNT:
Visit: https://www.getmovinfundhub.com and click “register as a parent”
Enter the following code in the “School Identifier” field: 5d39c79006a0f
If you have more than one student, click the green “+Add Student” button at the top of your parent dashboard to create additional pages. Once registered, share via Facebook or other social media to family and friends!
If your student receives cash or checks (made out to Browns Point PTA) volunteers will be collecting these in person on Friday, October 22nd and October 29th from 8:45 to 9:45 am. Cash/check donations brought to school will be added to student totals on their fundraising websites so you can track your student’s progress toward meeting their goals! Remember there are lots of ways your child can win prizes:
All students who raise $200 or more will receive a special Beluga Plushie!
All students who bring in cash or check donations of any amount or receive online donations of any amount this week will be entered into a drawing to win an Echo Dot Speaker! (Congratulations to Cocobella B. in Mrs. Heckman’s class who won the Amazon Fire Tablet last week!)
All classes that reach their class fundraising goal will receive a cupcake party. Check the class leaderboard here: https://www.getmovinfundhub.com/events/6130e9da638d5/classroom-leaderboard
If we reach our overall goal of $20,000 all students will receive an ice cream party!

CHANGES THIS YEAR DUE TO COVID: For those of you who have participated in Dance-A-Thon previously, we have made a few changes this year to ensure student safety.
The dance will be held outside during lunch recesses and students will be spaced 6-feet apart.
All volunteers on dance day will be required to show proof of vaccination in accordance with Governor Inslee’s Proclamation 21-14.1.
Masks will be worn by all students and volunteers at all times.
FINALLY, WE NEED VOLUNTEERS! We’d love a few parents to help us monitor and encourage students to dance! Click this link to view the schedule and sign up! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080f4ea8a72aa13-danceathon Volunteers must have a current volunteer form on file with the office and provide proof of covid vaccine. Feel free to stop by the office prior to dance day during school hours to complete these tasks so you don’t miss any of the dancing day of!
